Perfect opportunity for West Ham United to sign Daichi Kamada as Frankfurt announces free transfer departure

West Ham United have been handed the perfect opportunity to sign Eintracht Frankfurt star Daichi Kamada, with the German club confirming he will depart at the end of the season.

The 26-year-old who starred at the World Cup for Japan has long been on the trails of Premier League clubs recently with his contract at the club coming to a close at the end of June.

Kamada who’s been in sparkling form so far this season, scoring 13 goals and registering five assists in all competitions has been linked with the Hammers in the past, with club insider ExWHUemployee reporting last summer [4 August] that the 26-year-old is seen as an ambitious target.

West Ham will now be hugely anticipating an exciting summer ahead as the latest transfer update regarding one of their targets emerges, with the Hammers in desperate need of some new attacking inspiration.

“Daichi Kamada leaves Eintracht Frankfurt,” the German outfit confirmed on Twitter. “The 26-year-old will not extend his expiring contract after six years with Eintracht and will leave the club after the season.

“Let’s successfully complete the beautiful years together in the rest of the time.”

With West Ham United in desperate need of attacking quality this summer, and in the event they secure their Premier League status come May, Kamada is a player they simply cannot ignore as they attempt to rebuild an ailing squad.

Several of their star players have been linked with moves away at the end of the season, especially the likes of Declan Rice who could be leaving for big money as well as Michail Antonio, Gianluca Scamacca, Angelo Ogbonna and Tomas Soucek who all currently face uncertain futures at the London Stadium.

This means the Hammers will certainly have money in the bank to revamp their squad and it’s in the midfield where they could desperately desire the most of a significant rebuild, especially as they could lose the services of both Rice and Soucek.

The Japanese World Cup star has enjoyed another terrific campaign in the German Bundesliga, registering an impressive seven goals and four assists from 18 games and 13 in all competitions.

And the playmaker is known to improve the players around him through his huge tactical understanding and intelligence both in the attack and defence.

The 26-year-old showcased his tremendous and unique exploits scoring in all three of this season’s Champions League group stages, especially against capital rivals Tottenham.

His feats were on show for all of Europe to see last season as his creativity in the final third and his midfield versatility helped Frankfurt defeat Rangers in the 2022 Europa League final and they have also excelled brilliantly this term thanks to Kamada’s unique qualities in all phases of Oliver Glasner’s transitional approach at Frankfurt.

Introducing a fresh impetus to the attacking threat at the London Stadium could be the addition West Ham United desperately needs to comfortably compete if they do remain in the top flight next season, and acquiring targets such as Kamada could go a long way in dramatically changing the narrative in East London.
