Paul Merson predicts result of West Ham United v Liverpool clash
Paul Merson is predicting West Ham and Liverpool to share the spoils when they take on each other in the Premier League at the London Stadium.
The Reds will be looking to capitalise on whatever chances they have left to secure Champions League football next season while the Hammers need the points to steer further away from the relegation zone.
Jurgen Klopp’s side undoubtedly go in as the favourites and they need a win more than the hosts, but Merson does not see it happening.

He told Sportskeeda, “Liverpool are in a position where they may as well try and win every match – a draw is no good. They do not want to be in the Conference League and will want to finish in fifth place.
“The shackles are off for Liverpool at the moment and they’re looking good. If you’re a professional footballer, the one thing you can bottle up is confidence. They’ve got that back now, and they’re looking dangerous.
“I think West Ham’s result yesterday will give them enough confidence to go on and win the Conference League. If you’re Liverpool, you do not want to be playing against West Ham now.
“Newcastle’s victory yesterday was the nail in the coffin for Liverpool’s Champions League hopes. They would’ve hoped for a draw in that match. This is going to be a great match, and I’m going to go with a Liverpool draw this week.
“Prediction: West Ham United 2-2 Liverpool.”
Good result
David Moyes and the entire West Ham side will take this result if it’s being handed to them at kick-off as it’s not easy playing Liverpool.
Despite the season they’re having, one never knows what kind of side turns up and they can make things really tough for their opponents.
They’ve got game changers like Mo Salah, Andy Robertson, Trent Alexander-Arnold and recently Cody Gakpo and Darwin Nunez too, who can be a real handful.

Klopp has been full of praise for Moyes in the build up to this game and has even made an admission him getting sacked at the London Stadium.
While most West Ham fans will disagree with this assessment they certainly want the team to have the best momentum possible going into a potential European final.
It could be an ideal way for Moyes to end his tenure at the London Stadium and ending the trophy drought at the club.
