Paul Merson predicts result of West Ham clash v Leicester

West Ham will travel to the King Power Stadium to face Leicester City on Sunday (12 February) and Paul Merson feels they will pick a crucial win away from home.

Leicester City are struggling badly at the moment, having failed to win their last three Premier League games. The Hammers aren’t playing that well either, but they are doing just enough to pick up crucial points.

Merson suggests that Declan Rice could leave the club if the Hammers don’t perform well this season, and has predicted a 2-1 win while previewing the clash in his Sportskeeda column.

The Sky Sports pundit said: This could be a massive result for West Ham. They need to do well this season because they might lose Declan Rice in the summer.

“Leicester are all over the place at the moment, and this is a big game for them. Last week was a shocker for them, particularly against Nottingham Forest. With Leicester struggling, you’d expect West Ham to win this game.”

Massive

It’s a big game, and West Ham must win these games to keep their top-four hopes alive.

They have gone through a blip in form recently but the Hammers have returned strongly with a narrow 1-0 win against Watford in their previous game.

Moyes has rightly said today (11 February) that although they are not playing well, the club is doing fine in picking up wins. He has assured that the performance will improve with a few more wins under their belt.

Regarding Rice, it seems the Hammers are pretty relaxed about the situation. Rice has a long-term deal at the club, and he is not agitating for a move away.

West Ham will only sell him if there’s a right offer on the table, and it has to be a record-breaking offer as well. Rather, they are focused on making the squad better and getting into Europe.
