Paul Merson predicts result of West Ham clash v Brentford
Paul Merson believes West Ham could struggle with fixtures coming thick and fast due to their squad size, as he predicted their upcoming Premier League game against Brentford.
The Hammers are in good form going into the game, winning three of their last five Premier League games including a big win over Everton last weekend.
And after their huge win over Lyon in the Europa League on Thursday night, morale is high and momentum is with them. but Merson has predicted that their small squad and Brentford’s good form could see the points split in a 1-1 draw in his SportsKeeda column.

“Like Leicester City, West Ham also have an important Europa League game against Lyon to negotiate before facing Brentford in the Premier League,” he said.
“The Hammers are a fantastic side without a doubt, but they don’t have the strongest squad, which could affect them when games are coming thick and fast.
“Brentford at home is a tough game and with Christian Eriksen seemingly returning to his best, I can see the Bees getting a point from this one.”
Momentum
Momentum is a big thing in football and players tend to not get tired when they’re winning games regularly.
West Ham have developed a knack for winning games under David Moyes this season and last, but the Premier League right now is a weird place for the Hammers.

They’re essentially out of the top four race and European football is basically secured, but they want to keep winning as a habit but also to help with momentum in their Europa League chase.
Brentford are coming into the game after a week of rest following a 4-1 thumping of Chelsea at Stamford Bridge in a stunning performance, so they will be flying.
A draw isn’t the worst result in the world, but this is a game that the Hammers will feel they should be winning and it would be disappointing overall to not win the game.
