Paul Merson makes ‘Unbelievable’ West Ham United v Fulham prediction
Paul Merson has made his prediction for the Premier League clash between West Ham and Fulham at the London Stadium on Sunday (14 April).
The Hammers suffered a 2-0 defeat to Bayer Leverkusen in the Europa League on Thursday to put their progress in European competition at risk, while the Cottagers suffered a 1-0 defeat to Newcastle in their last outing.
While speaking to Sportskeeda and offering his predictions for the weekend’s games (12 April), Merson backed David Moyes’ side to get a win against an unpredictable Fulham outfit and mooted a potentially unbelievable achievement that could follow.
“Fulham are so unpredictable, so I’m going for a 2-1 win,” he said.
“If all my predictions are right this weekend, West Ham could leapfrog Manchester United in the Premier League points table, which would be an unbelievable achievement.”
Does David Moyes deserve more credit at West Ham?
Fans have been growing increasingly annoyed at the performances of the Hammers team this season, because the squad is capable of some great stuff.
Players like Lucas Paqueta, Jarrod Bowen and Mohammed Kudus deserve to be playing exciting, attacking football and given the platform to score a host of goals to take the team up the table.
But with the way Moyes plays his football, they’re instead required to bail their team out of problems all the time with individual brilliance and that has led to fans looking for a new manager with the club making moves in the background.

However, with that said it can’t be ignored that the team are pushing to play in a European competition for a fourth consecutive season thanks to their Premier League finish under Moyes.
Moyes has done very well with what he has, even if it hasn’t been the best thing to watch for fans or neutrals and he deserves plenty of credit for results if not for performances.
