Paris Saint-Germain want £16.8m for Thilo Kehrer after West Ham United made offer
West Ham United have a “good chance” to sign Paris Saint-Germain defender Thilo Kehrer, as per Florian Plettenberg.
The Sky Sports journalist wrote on Twitter on 10 August that the Hammers have made an offer of around £8.4m-£10 million, but PSG are expecting an offer of around £16.8m.
Sevilla have also made an offer to sign the Germany international, and there is a high chance that the player will leave the club this summer.
Pletterberg wrote on Twitter: “News Kehrer: West Ham has made an official offer of around €10-12m transfer fee. There is also an offer from Sevilla. Paris expects €20m. West Ham with good chances to sign the 25 y/o German national.”
As per Dharmesh Sheth of Sky Sports, the Hammers have made a second bid to sign the player, after their opening bid was rejected by the French giants.
Good move
It’s a fantastic move from the Hammers, and it seems they have a good chance to wrap up the deal.
In all probability, PSG could tell West Ham to improve their offer a bit so that a middle ground compromise can be reached.
The Hammers badly need to sign a defender before the end of the window. Summer signing Nayef Aguerd is out injured, while Angelo Ogbonna and Craig Dawson are not fit enough to feature at the moment.
West Ham have confirmed on 10 August that Issa Diop has left the club to join Fulham.

Thus it leaves David Moyes short of options at the back, and Kehrer would be a fantastic addition.
He has got loads of experience having made over 120 appearances for PSG since 2018 and has 20-caps for Germany as well.
The best part is he can also play as a full-back, and that solves a big problem for the Hammers.
