Pablo Fornals trying to lure En-Nesyri to West Ham – report
West Ham midfielder Pablo Fornals is trying to convince Sevilla forward Youssef En-Nesyri to move to east London in the summer, according to a report from Estadio Deportivo
Fornals and En-Nesyri played together for Malaga in the 2015-16 season in La Liga. En-Nesyri was subject to a £27million bid from the Hammers at the end of January [The Athletic], but his Spanish club declined the offer.
Under David Moyes, the Hammers are having a remarkable season. They’re currently nine points clear of Tottenham, thanks to the 2-1 on Sunday. They also have a five-point gap on the champions, Liverpool, and are above Chelsea.
Estadio Deportivo now reports Fornals is trying to tempt his former teammate to join West Ham as we look to build on an impressive season.
The report says that En-Nesyri, 23, has been contacted by his former teammate, who is trying to convince him to move. Fornals singed at West Ham from Villarreal in 2019. He’d moved from Malaga two seasons prior, where he played alongside the Moroccan attacker.
Moyes’ man?
David Moyes appears to have got it all correct so far. The one position we could do with back-up is definitely the striking department.
Record signing flop Sebastian Haller hasn’t once been thought about since leaving. However, his departure did leave us short up top.
According to WhoScored, En-Nesyri has scored 17 goals in 34 matches for Sevilla this season, and is their top goalscorer. He’s a hard worker with a lot of pace, so definitely fits the bill for Moyes.
The boss has got every transfer spot on since his second arrival, so we back him to get this one right. In have come Soucek, Bowen, Dawson, Coufal, Benrahma and Lingard who are all first-team regulars as we drive up the table.
He has made no secret of his desire to bring in a forward this summer, after opting not to spend in January. Antonio could do with some backup, so hopefully we can get a deal agreed for En-Nesyri this summer.
In other West Ham news, today marks 28 years since the passing of Bobby Moore.
