Pablo Fornals: I am happy at West Ham

Pablo Fornals has insisted that he is “really happy” at West Ham.

The Hammers now turn their attention towards playing in the quarter-finals of the Europa League against Lyon on Thursday, and it’s a big occasion for the club.

The Spaniard has been superb in recent months, and David Moyes will expect a top performance from him in midweek.

“As you can imagine, it is very exciting for the players and staff but also the people who support West Ham,” said Fornals to Evening Standard.

“We are going to try to go as far as we can in all competitions, because every one of us deserves it.

“It is unbelievable [to have a shot at history] and I am really happy and proud to be a part of this moment. It is massive for my career and I am really happy to be here.”

Massive game

The 26-year-old has scored six goals and two assists in all competitions for the Hammers this season.

The Hammers will be in full confidence ahead of their Europa League tie, after beating La Liga giants Sevilla in their previous round.

The first leg is at home and it poses a different challenge. The Hammers should look to take a healthy lead at the London Stadium ahead of the second leg.

West Ham

They have to be bold and adventurous but at the same time, they must ensure solidity at the back.

In the knock-out rounds, the away goals can make a huge difference, and that’s why it’s important to stay strong at the back and not concede many goals.

West Ham will be boosted after winning 2-1 against Everton on Sunday in the Premier League. It was necessary to start positively after the international break, and they can head into this game with a positive frame of mind.
