Ollie Scarles injury blow examined – West Ham defender could miss these games
West Ham crashed to yet another embarrassing defeat at Leeds United in the Premier League.
West Ham lost 2-1 to Leeds at Elland Road on Friday, with Mateus Fernandes’ consolation goal making the scoreline look better than the performance.
Ollie Scarles once again started at right-back, for no reason, but was forced off after dislocating his shoulder in the opening 20 minutes.
After breaking through under Graham Potter at the London Stadium, the young defender is now set for an extended period on the sidelines.

Ollie Scarles out for long-term absence
Scarles starting at right-back under Nuno has been called “extraordinary”, with the young Hammer never playing there before.
Given his shoulder injury, though, he will not be spotted there again in the foreseeable future.
Ben Dinnery, an injury expert on Premier League clubs, has shared the latest after the blow.
It is claimed that a return date is unknown, with the young defender being assessed after a dreadful start ended even worse at Elland Road.

Despite the injury forcing the substitution, Nuno also admitted that a tactical change was needed after only 20 minutes, saying: “It was not working out and we needed to make a change.”
West Ham games that Ollie Scarles could miss
It is said that if surgery isn’t needed, a professional sportsman could return to action in six weeks.
If surgery is needed for Scarles, it could be months until he is seen again at the London Stadium.
Working on the six-week timeline, that would take West Ham to the start of December, and a possible return against Aston Villa at the London Stadium.

West Ham only have four points in nine Premier League games, and relegation is looking more likely with each passing week at this moment.
Nuno has made some bewildering team choices already, including playing Scarles on the opposite of his preferred left side, for no reason whatsoever.
Aaron Wan-Bissaka and El Hadji Malick Diouf should and will be first choice on their sides now, and West Ham will need players like them at their best to pick up consistent points.
