Nuno Esprito Santo ‘will be next West Ham manager’ as immediate reveal emerges

West Ham have sacked manager Graham Potter after a dismal start to the season.

Everyone saw it coming eventually, but West Ham have confirmed the sacking of Potter, just days before the Irosn were due to travel to Merseyside to face Everton.

The timing of the decision is certainly strange, and even that has caused surprise among several West Ham stars at Rush Green.

However, the search for a new manager is already underway, and all of the signs are pointing towards it being recently sacked Nuno Espirito Santo.

West Ham ready to appoint Nuno Santo

Slaven Bilic had been heavily mooted for a West Ham return as soon as the pressure started building on Potter, though, as things stand, that one looks unlikely.

Instead, Alex Crook has reported via X that sources have suggested “Nuno will be the new West Ham manager”.

Not long after, Crook confirmed that Santo has agreed terms with the Hammers.

Santo was only sacked a matter of weeks ago at Forest, though that was ultimately down to a falling out with Evangelos Marinakis, as opposed to anything on the pitch.

The Portuguese manager had led Forest to a European place in the Premier League last season, though he certainly had a rocky start to the season at the City Ground.

Whether Santo is appointed in time for West Ham’s trip to Everton on Monday night remains to be seen, but this certainly seems to be the route that the Irons are looking to take.

Nuno Santo would be perfect for West Ham

West Ham need an identity again.

Ever since Potter arrived, they were stripped of it, and that was only amplified by many poor results home and away in the Premier League.

As to why it took this long to pull the trigger, who knows, but the latest news certainly shows that the Irons are ready to rectify their past mistakes with the hire of Santo.

If he does get the job, it’s unlikely that he will be able to turn their fortunes around immediately, but unlike Potter, Santo has shown in the past what he can achieve with time in the Premier League, and it will be no different at West Ham.
