Nuno Espirito Santo drops Freddie Potts injury update ahead of West Ham clash vs Bournemouth

West Ham are set for a trip to face Bournemouth on Saturday.

Bournemouth are preparing to host West Ham as both sides are readying a return from the international break for the final time in 2025.

The Hammers are in a useful run of form, having won two on the bounce, with West Ham beating Burnley and Newcastle United at the London Stadium.

Bournemouth will represent a tough test for West Ham as the Irons have struggled on the road at times so far this season.

Nuno Espirito Santo will need to get the best out of his players, but continues to sweat over the fitness of Freddie Potts in East London.

Nuno Espirito Santo shares West Ham team news vs Bournemouth

West Ham travelling to Bournemouth represents a long-awaited return to Premier League action, but certainly a tricky one for the claret and blue outfit.

The E20 club can take solace in the fact that Andoni Iraola’s side fell to a 4-0 defeat against Aston Villa in their last outing.

The Cherries will be keen to get back to winning ways, while Nuno will want to make it nine points from a possible nine in West Ham’s last three games.

There’s no getting away from the injury problems that will take a toll on the Irons ahead of their trip to the Vitality Stadium.

Nuno has now spoken out in his pre-match press conference to confirm the state of his squad before they face off against Bournemouth.

He said: “They [Potts, Mavropanos and Fullkrug] are recovering. They’re getting better day by day. We still have the session tomorrow to see and evaluate and then decide.

Yes, some [injuries picked up during the international break]. It’s always something we don’t want, but after the international break, there are always doubts and things we need to assess.

West Ham will face problems against Bournemouth

Iraola has plenty of quality available to him on the south coast, but he struggled to get the best out of that at Villa Park last time out.

The likes of Antoine Semenyo, Evanilson, Justin Kluivert and Marcus Tavernier all failed to make an impact and will be hoping to do so against the Hammers.

West Ham have struggled defensively this campaign, especially when up against pacey, technical and physical opposition.

It is unlikely that Bournemouth will have another off day, especially at the Vitality, so that could certainly spell bad news for Nuno and Co.
