Nottingham Forest in contract talks with West Ham target Brennan Johnson

Nottingham Forest are in talks over a new deal for their rising young talent Brennan Johnson amid interest from West Ham, according to reports from The Evening Standard.

Earlier this week ExWHUemployee claimed that the Hammers could make a move for him in the summer.

Crystal Palace and Brentford are also reportedly interested in signing the 20-year-old whose current deal expires next year.

West Ham

Fantastic talent

Brentford made an offer in the region of 10 million for the winger in the January window, but it was rejected.

The competition for him is expected to be high in the summer, and Nottingham are looking to ward off interest by offering him a new deal.

Should he pen a new deal at the Championship club, Forest will be in a better position to demand an even higher transfer fee in the summer.

The youngster has been in terrific form this season, scoring nine goals and laying on five assists in the Championship.

He also grabbed the headlines by scoring in the famous 4-1 victory against Leicester City.

West Ham

The Hammers previously signed players from the second tier, and they all have excelled.

They signed Jarrod Bowen from Hull City and Said Benrahma from Brentford, and both of them have established themselves as key players for the club.

Johnson is a highly promising young talent, and it remains to be seen how his future unfolds in the coming months.
