Niclas Fullkrug to West Ham United makes sense
Since the start of the summer transfer window, the Hammers have been linked with a plethora of number nines following the below-par performances of both Michail Antonio and Danny Ings last season.
The deal between West Ham, Dortmund and Fullkrug has been agreed in terms of both the transfer fee and personal terms with the player even being allowed to leave the German club’s pre-season training camp [Borussia Dortmund, 3 August] to finalise the move.
Fullkrug had a stellar season with the German club last term and managed to contribute to 25 goals for the club across all competitions.
Whilst Jarrod Bowen and Mohammed Kudus will no doubt continue performing to an elite level, the fact that they won’t have to be solely relied upon will ease some of the pressure off of their shoulders.
Crysencio Summerville is another player who is on the cusp of being added to the Hammers’ ranks [ExWHUEmployee, 3 August] with the attacker also helping improve the club’s attack tenfold.
If the summer transfer window is anything to go by, the 2024/25 campaign is shaping up to be a strong one for Julen Lopetegui’s men.
