Niclas Fullkrug one of four ruled out at Elland Road in Leeds vs West Ham

Nuno Espirito Santo could desperately do with a positive result when West Ham face Leeds United at Elland Road on Friday.

Leeds are favourites to beat West Ham in West Yorkshire as they sit four points better off in the Premier League table.

West Ham lost 2-0 to Brentford in their most recent match, with as many as 20,000 season ticket holders boycotting the London Stadium for that dire display.

Nuno will be without Niclas Fullkrug at Elland Road due to injury, with the Germany international one of four players from both sides combined confirmed to be out.

Leeds United camp struck by illness

Daniel Farke revealed on Wednesday that a number of Leeds players are struggling with illness, but the German did not elaborate any further.

What we do know is that young striker Harry Gray is confirmed out, although it was unlikely he would come close to playing any part anyway.

As per Ben Dinnery of Premier Injuries, Willy Gnonto, Noah Okafor, Ethan Ampadu and Pascal Struijk are the other injury and illness doubts for Leeds.

As for West Ham, as well as being without Fullkrug, Konstantinos Mavropanos will also miss out.

West Ham Zone exclusively revealed this week that Mavropanos will miss up to a month for West Ham.

George Earthy is the other West Ham player not available due to a thigh issue, with the midfielder set to return after the November international break.

West Ham to be part of three-decade first at Elland Road vs Leeds

West Ham have a fairly quick turnaround in matches given they only played on Monday night, whereas Leeds were in action on Saturday afternoon.

This contest at Elland Road will be rather unique, as it will be the first in the league to be staged at Leeds’ home on a Friday night since 1994.

Leeds were beaten 2-0 by Burnley in their most recent match and are three without a win in the Premier League since beating Wolves 3-1 on 20 September.

Yet that is somehow still better form than West Ham, whose winless run stretches back five games since a 3-0 win over Nottingham Forest at the end of August.

Should another defeat to recorded this week, already questions will be asked of Nuno early in his tenure.

And that is a headache David Sullivan and Co. could do without right now.
