Neymar instantly reacts as Lucas Paqueta posts emotional West Ham video

West Ham’s biggest transfer saga seems to have finally come to an end.

West Ham have been the most active Premier League club in the winter window, with three new arrivals already announced, and some more still to come.

Taty Castellanos, Pablo and Adama Traore have made the move to the London Stadium, as the Irons look to steer clear of the bottom three.

However, the entire window has revolved around the future of Lucas Paqueta, with an exit from West Ham now in the final stages of completion.

Lucas Paqueta shares farewell message as West Ham announcement made

Paqueta has been far from his best this season, with a strong case to be made for the fact that he has had his head turned over the last few months.

However, that looks set to come to an end after West Ham announced that the Brazilian is due to undergo a medical with Flamengo ahead of a permanent move back to his home country.

A statement shared via the Hammers’ site reads: “Despite the Club doing everything possible to persuade Lucas to stay, he has remained adamant that his wish is to leave.

“Therefore, the Head Coach and the Club have reluctantly agreed to accept his transfer request.”

Not long after the statement was released, Paqueta took to Instagram to share an emotional exit video with the caption “Thank you for everything, West Ham.”

Several West Ham players have already reacted to his post, as has Neymar, who has previously played alongside Paqueta for the Brazilian national team.

How much are West Ham getting from Paqueta sale?

Despite his lack of involvement from a contribution perspective, Paqueta has still been a crucial figure at West Ham over the last 12 months.

However, with the Brazilian having registered just one assist in his last two seasons, there were fears that the Hammers would be forced to settle for a signficantly lower transfer fee than would have been deemed ideal.

But that does not seem to be the case, with it reported that the Hammers will receive around £36.3million for his exit.

As for the structure of the deal, that remains unknown. West Ham are said to have agreed to Flamengo paying the fee in 24 monthly instalments.

It’s also claimed that there are no performance-related bonuses in the deal, but the Irons have included a sell-on clause.
