Newcastle striker Callum Wilson drops verdict on Lucas Paqueta future at West Ham United amid Manchester City links
Newcastle striker Callum Wilson believes Lucas Paqueta will leave West Ham amid links to Manchester City this summer.
The English forward was informed about the price the Hammers paid to sign the Brazilian last summer and the fact that the Citizens are willing to make an offer above that is reason enough for him to leave.
The Irons have already lost two of their top players in Declan Rice and Gianluca Scamacca this summer and are at risk of losing another one as well.

“Oh wow. How much did you buy him? If you’re a businessman that’s not much profit, you’re probably wanting more,” Wilson told The Footballer’s Football Podcast.
“But if I’m Paqueta and £70million offer has come in, which is a good offer, you have brought me for £52million, you’re making £18million and I have the champions wanting to sign me. He’s obviously going to be wanting to go, no?”
Hard to resist
Given how West Ham are run, Paqueta cannot be faulted for wanting to leave at the first chance he gets.
After losing Declan Rice and getting nine figures from his sale, it was the opportunity for the club to show that they are capable of a serious rebuild.
They should have had players ready to come in as his exit was known about for months before the window even opened.

However, they took their own sweet time to start the groundwork after his sale and that’s landed them in a sorry state of affairs.
Paqueta may be even more of a priority now for City as Kevin de Bruyne is set to miss a number of weeks and is unlikely to be back before December.
It remains to be seen if they can match what West Ham are willing to sell him for as if they can’t, he will be staying at the London Stadium.
In other West Ham news, the club have now opened advanced talks with a Premier League player who appears to be open on leaving his side this summer.
