New West Ham worry emerges for David Sullivan after weekend announcement
David Sullivan continues to come under fire during a difficult period for West Ham.
West Ham have been weighing up whether to sack Graham Potter, with the Hammers sitting second bottom in the Premier League after five games.
The Hammers had an underwhelming summer transfer window and failed to address the lack of depth in multiple positions.
West Ham fans lined the streets before the game against Crystal Palace in protest against the Hammers hierarchy, with big changes expected in the coming weeks.

Empty seats spotted in West Ham’s 2-1 defeat vs Crystal Palace
The West Ham fan advisory has asked Sullivan to step down as chairman in their letter of no confidence addressed to the hierarchy from earlier in the month.
Floods of West Ham fans were seen leaving the London Stadium early in the 3-0 loss to Tottenham, and empty seats could again be seen in the defeat to Palace.
After initial protests, the Hammers have been worrying about a potential boycott in future home games.
However, it appears attendance is already down as empty seats were spotted in the 2-1 loss to the Eagles.
According to the Daily Mail, Saturday’s official attendance was given as a 63,000 full house.
However, Ian Ladyman points out that there were clearly thousands less than that figure inside the ground as season ticket holders seemingly stayed away.
This is a development Ladyman describes as a “worrying sign” for the club’s board, as fans are clearly voting with their feet. No skewed announcement on the attendance figures will change that.
West Ham Premier League results:
- Sunderland 3-0 West Ham
- West Ham 1-5 Chelsea
- Nottingham Forest 0-3 West Ham
- West Ham 3-0 Tottenham
- West Ham 1-2 Crystal Palace
The Hammers have now lost four of their five Premier League games this season, and plenty of fans are staying away from the London Stadium until Sullivan makes a change.
West Ham have conceded three or more times in 21 games since January 2024, so it’s little wonder why supporters have been staying away.
West Ham fans have fallen out of love with the London Stadium
Hammers fans were initially uncertain about the move from Upton Park to the London Stadium in 2016.
However, under David Moyes, the ground became tough for any side to come to, with the atmosphere often through the roof – especially in that magical European run.
However, in recent time, fans have fallen out of love with it and are demanding a change.
Since their turn in form, it has become difficult to build an atmosphere, and the ground has been described as a ‘bowl’ and ‘too friendly’ for opposition teams.
The Irons are still renting the London Stadium, and should Sullivan finally look to sell, new owners could elect to find a new ground.
