Nathan Trott rejected Championship clubs to complete overseas West Ham United exit

Neil Crosby, the agent of West Ham goalkeeper Nathan Trott, revealed that clubs in England and a big Dutch club wanted to sign his client.

However, he revealed that it was an easy decision for the 25-year-old to pick FC Copenhagen, after spending two good seasons at Danish club Vejle Boldklub.

Despite his contract at the London Stadium expiring in 2026, the Bermuda born keeper is set to leave.

Crosby told Tipsbladet on 23 June: “We have spoken to several other of the really big clubs in Denmark who really wanted Nathan, but there was nothing to consider once we had sat down with ‘PC’ and Jacob Neestrup and heard their vision.

“There was also a lot of interest from Championship clubs and a big Dutch club, and we had been in dialogue with all of them, so FC Copenhagen was actually the last club to sit down at the table.

“There was just something different about ‘PC’ and Jacob Neestrup that the other clubs couldn’t join. They were fully dedicated and we felt that they wanted Nathan 100 per cent, so it was an easy decision for us to take FC Copenhagen, emphasises Neil Crosby.”

West Ham to now seal the deal to sign Wes Foderingham

With his contract at the London Stadium expiring in 2026, it was the right time for him to seek a permanent move to a club where he could be a first-choice goalkeeper.

Foderingham, a 33-year-old experienced goalkeeper, will provide cover for Alphonse Areola and Lukasz Fabianski under Julen Lopetegui’s stewardship.

His arrival on a free transfer fills the gap left by Trott’s departure and adds depth to the goalkeeping options.

By allowing the 25-year-old to leave and bringing in Foderingham, the Hammers making a strategic move to strengthen their goalkeeping department while allowing a promising young player to continue his development in a different environment.
