Moyes disagrees with Dermot Gallagher on ruled-out goal v Brighton
West Ham were recently held to a 1-1 draw by Brighton, and David Moyes has disagreed with Dermot Gallagher’s explanation on the goal that was chalked off.
The Hammers thought they had found themselves 2-0 up at the London Stadium on Wednesday (1 December), but VAR ruled it out as Michail Antonio was adjudged offside, and the manager has told Sky Sports he is yet to get an explanation.
Former Premier League referee Gallagher claimed it was the right call, but Moyes still does not understand how he came to that conclusion.
The West Ham boss said (via Football Daily’s official Twitter account): “No, not to me, and I actually disagreed with Dermot Gallagher who works for you as well.
“So I don’t know how he saw the leg, maybe he’s seen a screen, maybe not, so I’m looking forward to seeing that picture which suggests he hits his leg.”
Confusion reigns
The ball crept over the line after Robert Sanchez had punched the ball into Craig Dawson, which sent it goalward via a touch off Shane Duffy in a goalmouth scramble.
However, while the Brighton defender appeared to get the final touch, the West Ham hitman was deemed offside.
The visitors left it late to grab an equaliser, and the draw was a big blow for the Hammers.
VAR did its job, but Moyes is clearly unhappy with the call.

While West Ham would not have had any complaints had they won the game, they are right to demand an explanation from the authorities as to why the goal was chalked off.
A decision like that could prove costly as it did in the end, but the Hammers can only have themselves to blame for the dropped points as they should have done more in the final third.
The race for fourth position is heating up, and should they miss out on the top-four by one or two points, they will surely look back to this game as the reason.
