West Ham United team news v Newcastle United: Mohammed Kudus injury update emerges
West Ham star Mohammed Kudus will remain in London during the international break after suffering a “minor knee problem,” according to The Mirror.
The newspaper reported via their print edition on Thursday (page 47, 21 March) that the 23-year-old attacker has pulled out of Ghana’s friendlies against Nigeria and Uganda due to the injury.
It is understood that the former Ajax ace was expected to jet out to Morocco to join a Ghanaian training camp before playing in those two matches.
However, The Mirror claims that Kudus is instead spending the international break recovering in the capital and it is claimed that he should be available to play against Newcastle at St James’ Park on Saturday, 30 March.
West Ham team news v Newcastle United in Premier League showdown
West Ham’s clash with Newcastle will be quite an important one when the Premier League action resumes after the current international break.
David Moyes’ side is just four points ahead of the Magpies, so a win for the Tynesiders will be huge in the race to qualify for European football next season.
West Ham also have Brighton in eighth and Wolves in ninth breathing down their necks after failing to win in their last two league fixtures.
Kudus doesn’t seem to be 100 per cent available against Newcastle and whether or not he’s selection is likely to depend on how he recovers from this minor knee injury during the international break.

Away from him, the Irons are in a fairly good shape going into their clash with Newcastle.
Edson Alvarez will be suspended after picking up 10 yellow cards while Maxwel Cornet could return from his thing injury after Moyes told the media earlier this month that he’s back in training at Rush Green.
In other West Ham news, a rival club is looking to sign an exit-bound Hammers ace after advice from a former England star.
