Mike Pejic urges Jacob Brown to reject West Ham and stay at Stoke City
West Ham United’s hunt for a striker is going to be a hot topic for quite some time with a huge list of names being linked with a move.
One of the latest mooted to be heading to the London Stadium is Stoke City’s English attacker Jacob Brown [Football League World] who has found a run of form towards the end of this season.
The Potters want to offer him a new deal but they are well aware that they could receive an offer from the Hammers that is too good to turn down in the second division.

Ex-Stoke defender Mike Pejic though has urged the 24-year-old to remain in the Potteries for at least one more season to continue learning away from the spotlights of the Premier League.
“Stoke City should keep him. Don’t turn your head, keep learning your trade in the Championship for now.,” Pejic said in the Stoke Sentinel.
“He has improved considerably this season through his experience and that’s an ongoing process. The higher you go, the tighter it’s going to be so you have to be sharper in your thinking and your actions.
“You have to sense areas and your movement is so important.”
Leave him
If budget was a really big issue, then Brown might be someone who would make a lot of sense but the Irons need to aim higher than that considering where they hope to be in the very near future.

There is a real possibility that Wes Ham will be playing Champions League football next season so you can’t be going to Stoke City for your signings no matter how good they might be (unless you’re Bayern Munich inexplicably signing Eric-Maxim Choupo-Moting).
Ivan Toney, Ollie Watkins and Taiwo Awoniyi are just three of the names being linked with a move to the London Stadium and they all far supersede Brown in both ability and their previous records for goals and assists.
David Moyes will like to keep Brown on the back burner as a very last resort but if it comes to the point where we are signing him, this summer has gone extremely badly wrong somewhere.
In other West Ham news, Eintracht Frankfurt’s sporting director is fuming with what the Irons have done ahead of their Europa League semi-final on Thursday.
