Michail Antonio trolls Manchester United fan live on air after West Ham draw

West Ham were left gutted at the end of their 1-1 draw against Manchester United on Tuesday, but there were plenty of positives to take.

Tomas Soucek opened the scoring with a smart finish past Senne Lammens, with Michael Carrick facing his first bit of real adversity.

After withstanding waves of late pressure, though, the Hammers’ defence was eventually breached in the 96th minute when Benjamin Sesko scored a volley to silence the London Stadium.

West Ham are still in the relegation zone and sit two points behind 17th-placed Nottingham Forest with 12 games left to play.

Man United had been on a four-game winning run before Tuesday’s result, and West Ham legend Michail Antonio couldn’t help but throw a dig at one of their supporters.

Michail Antonio takes at The United Strand after the match

The United Strand, whose real name is Frank Ilett, is a Red Devils supporter who hasn’t cut his hair since October 2024.

That will continue until Man United win five matches in a row, which still hasn’t happened for 16 months.

Having beaten Man City and Arsenal in recent weeks, he would have felt that a win against West Ham seemed likely, although Nuno Espirito Santo’s side frustrated the life out of them.

Speaking on TNT Sports as a pundit, Antonio had a cheeky dig at Ilett after the match, as he now has to wait a lot longer before he can get a haircut.

He said with a laugh, “Today, Man United fans would have wanted the win. Especially for that guy, I don’t know what his name is, but you ain’t cutting it now.”

Antonio still has West Ham close to his heart, and that would have cheered up several fans who felt deflated after the match.

West Ham’s tendency to concede late goals could lead to relegation

Although the striker may have been smiling after the game, the harsh reality is that this result will do a lot more damage to the Hammers than the visitors.

Man United were the favourites to beat West Ham before the match, but the heartbreak of conceding a last-minute goal won’t be easy to take for Nuno’s side.

The Hammers have also shipped late winners against Chelsea and Nottingham Forest in 2026 already, and they’ve lost four points alone from these three matches.

West Ham have dropped 20 points from winning positions this season, which is the most of any team in the top flight, but at least the fight is finally on show.

It’s a deeply concerning issue that Nuno needs to address very quickly; otherwise, the Hammers might be playing Championship football for the first time since 2011-2012.
