Michail Antonio names 'ridiculous' Allan Saint-Maximin as dream West Ham United signing
When pressed to pick his dream West Ham signing, Michail Antonio turned his attention towards Newcastle United winger Allan Saint-Maximin.
Antonio has found himself on the West Ham bench in recent weeks as new signing Gianluca Scamacca’s form proved too good to leave out by David Moyes.
But despite Antonio falling down the pecking order, the 32-year-old picked another forward as his dream signing at West Ham.
Speaking via the Footballer’s Football Podcast (27 October, 49:30), Antonio said: “I’m going to pick Saint-Maximin. Saint-Maximin because everyone knows his ability.
“It is ridiculous to be fair, the guy is a joke, you have to double up on him, maybe even treble.”

You’d be stretched to find many Hammers fans that wouldn’t want to see Saint-Maximin join West Ham.
The 25-year-old winger has starred for the Magpies since he moved to Tyneside from Nice in 2019. While occasionally greedy, Saint-Maximin’s creativity and dribbling is up there with the Premier League’s best.
Antonio clearly sees himself latching onto the end of Saint-Maximin’s passes at the London Stadium, but his dreams are sadly never going to come true.
Poaching players from Newcastle practically became impossible following their Saudi-backed takeover. Eddie Howe’s side won’t be pressured into selling for any price and will keep hold of any player they want to with their new-found cash.
So while the idea of Jarrod Bowen partnering Saint-Maximin on either wing sounds dreamy, it’s a fantasy that will have to stay fictional for the time being – sorry Michail.
Realistically, after the arrival of Scamacca and Lucas Paqueta in the summer, West Ham should probably turn their attention elsewhere in the transfer market anyway.
