Michail Antonio considers West Ham United future as Serie A twist emerges
Michail Antonio is understood to be contemplating his future at West Ham United, according to The Guardian’s Jacob Steinberg.
The Guardian had previously claimed on 3 June that the 33-year-old could move on during the summer despite having at least one more year on his current deal. West Ham are understood to have the option to extend his current deal by a further year.
However, Steinberg has now suggested the striker is now contemplating his future with Gianluca Scamacca now set to remain at the London Stadium despite interest from Roma (The Guardian, 30 June).

Latter stages
It’s fair to say that Antonio’s career at the London Stadium is now entering its latter stages.
He could remain until the summer of 2025 – an extension beyond that is extremely unlikely. Therefore, a move either this transfer window or in January makes a lot of sense.
With Tim Steidten set to take up his role at the London Stadium a new ethos and template will be implemented in regards to signing new players.

Big earners like Antonio will have to be moved on to allow David Moyes to complete another squad overhaul during the summer. With Declan Rice set to move on in just a matter of days, a big transfer fee is set to arrive.
It’s absolutely essential for the board to spend the £100m plus wisely. At least two midfielders, a striker and an attacking midfielder would constitute a good window for the Hammers.
The sooner Rice’s move is concluded, the better.
