Max Kilman reacts as West Ham exit now officially confirmed
West Ham have sanctioned the permanent sale of a first-team midfielder.
The Hammers have around two weeks to complete the January business that is needed to help them fight against relegation, with two arrivals through the door as of now.
West Ham could make Pablo Garcia the third January arrival, after reports from Spain surfaced stating that they are prepared to trigger his £26million release clause.
However, the Irons will also have to let go of some of those who have had a lesser part to play this season, and one of those deals was confirmed over the weekend.
West Ham midfielder departs London Stadium
Lucas Paqueta’s exit from West Ham remains on the cards in January, though reports have stated that the Irons are hoping he can see the rest of the season out one way or another.
However, the same cannot be said for Andy Irving, whose exit from the London Stadium was made official over the weekend.
The 25-year-old Scotsman has completed a permanent transfer to Sparta Prague for an undisclosed fee.
Irving has barely featured for West Ham under Nuno Espirito Santo, having started just twice in the Premier League, amounting to just 157 minutes of football.
Sparta Prague announced his arrival via an Instagram post, with West Ham defender Max Kilman liking the post, alongside Konstantinos Mavropanos and Lewis Orford.
Who else could leave West Ham in January?
Aside from Paqueta, who has his heart set on joining Flamengo, there are others who could move on from the London Stadium this month.
Given the likelihood of relegation, Jarrod Bowen finds himself linked with an exit, though it’s hard to see the Hammers sanctioning his departure unless they were to receive a silly transfer fee.
Callum Wilson has been heavily mooted to be moved on, despite having scored the goal that saw West Ham secure all three points away to Tottenham at the weekend.
However, Nuno will no doubt want to see more bodies come through the door before the Irons start moving squad players on.
With two weeks remaining in the transfer window, time is slowly starting to run out for the Hammers to achieve that, with several areas of the squad still in need of some new quality.
