Max Allegri makes decision on West Ham job after Lopetegui sack updates

West Ham are open to hiring a caretaker manager after talks with Max Allegri, according to talkSPORT.

The Italian would consider taking over at the London Stadium, but only at the end of the season if Julen Lopetegui is eventually sacked.

It means David Sullivan would need to hire a temporary manager first with the Premier League clash against Wolves on 9 December crucial for Julen Lopetegui.

West Ham United make new manager decision

This would be a stupid decision.

Allegri has never managed outside of Italy and it would be another step backwards for Sullivan, who continues to get these manager calls wrong.

Tim Steidten isn’t any better, and it looks as though the two are already clashing over a possible next manager despite Lopetegui not even being sacked yet.

Things are just getting messy now, and it doesn’t look good for anyone.

Several names have already emerged in the race to replace Lopetegui before he has even been sacked and Sullivan is just making the process confusing.

If he is lining up a new manager, why is his current boss still in charge?

To go through all of that to just hire a temporary manager and then Allegri in the summer, the Irons may as well just keep Lopetegui in charge and give him time to turn it around.

A huge win over Wolves would quieten things down.
