Mauricio Pochettino stance on Chelsea striker Armando Broja emerges amid West Ham United transfer links

Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino desires a greater output from Armando Broja amid links to West Ham, Wolves and Fulham.

According to the Mirror (18 January), all three Premier League sides want to sign the 22-year-old Albania international in the January transfer window.

It’s understood that while he wants to stay, the Blues are willing to sanction his exit this month.

Can do better

Broja has struggled in front of goal and Chelsea have missed the most big chances this season so it’s evident he’s not one who can handle the pressure.

West Ham may want to reconsider pursuing his services as he’s only managed two goals in all competitions this season, indicating potential struggles in providing the consistent goal output the Hammers seeking.

Additionally, the 22-year-old striker, despite starting in three of Chelsea’s recent Premier League matches, has failed to secure a regular starting position due to his lack of conviction in the final third.

Furthermore, Wolves and Fulham’s interest could lead to a bidding war, potentially inflating Broja’s transfer value.

Jarrod Bowen has done well to lead the line in Michail Antonio’s absence and Mohammed Kudus is also capable of being the number nine.

Both the options are better than Broja and unless West Ham do not find anyone better than them, they should look at other positions in January.

In other West Ham news, a £50m FFP update has emerged on a midfielder linked with a move to the London Stadium.
