Martin Keown and Simon Jordan share West Ham verdict after Jesse Lingard transfer update

2021 West Ham loan star Jesse Lingard is set to make a big January request to Manchester United, according to broadcaster Jim White.

Speaking via talkSPORT [19/11/21] on Friday morning, White said of the 28-year-old England international: “Now we hear Jesse Lingard is set to leave Manchester United in January after contract talks collapsed.

“We hear Lingard is considering asking to be loaned out for the second half of the season.”

Ex-Crystal Palace owner Simon Jordan replied: “I never felt that he was going to go to West Ham. I just didn’t think it was going to be the fit in the longer term.”

Three-time Premier League winner Martin Keown added: “When he was at West Ham he showed what a good talent he is, an incredible talent.”

Return of the Red Devil?

Jordan appears downbeat on Lingard re-joining the Irons but Keown has referenced how the Irons reinvigorated the Warrington-born attacker’s career at the London Stadium.

Thus, from the player’s point of view, surely West Ham must be high on his destinations to move to if he can force his way out of Old Trafford.

He helped inspire West Ham to Europa League qualification last season but did not return during the summer transfer window.

That was attributed to several factors; some suggest Lingard never wanted to return while reports claim he was priced out of a move.

Hammers have tried to move on from him, and the team are certainly not in a position where they have to beg for him as they sit third in the Premier League table and dream of the Champions League.

But he could help to mask the chronic lack of forwards at the club and offer another mid-season shot in the arm to their 2021/22 objectives.

In other West Ham news, Simon Jordan has slammed these ‘Stupid’ Hammers and hailed Karren Brady after a major decision was taken this week.
