Martin Allen slams West Ham after what happened v Aston Villa – ‘Shocking’

Martin Allen slammed West Ham after they conceded against Aston Villa within just eight minutes of their 1-1 draw on Sunday.

The Hammers travelled to Villa Park on 26 January and went 1-0 down immediately when Jacob Ramsey scored to put the Villans ahead.

The bad start nearly got worse for the Hammers as their opponents had the ball in the net again minutes later but that was flagged for offside, with Emerson rescuing a point later on.

Allen wasted no time in calling out his former side though, as he posted on X: “What a shocking start.

“Men against old slow men.”

West Ham salvage a point against Aston Villa

Although Graham Potter would have been looking to seek revenge for the defeat against Villa in the FA Cup, his side did not get off to the start they would’ve hoped at Villa Park.

It was a well-worked goal from the home side but the Irons also made it too easy for their opponents who allowed the Villains to get through their defence with little resistance.

There was not much doubt that the new West Ham manager was going to take some time to settle into his role at The London Stadium and the fact that the Hammers were able to get themselves back into the game and score, shows that they are moving in a good direction.

However, Potter will be eager to get another win as West Ham manager under his belt sooner rather than later in the hope that his side can then build some momentum and get going picking up more points going forward.

Above anything, this will probably have served as a reminder that new faces are needed through the door to boost the Hammers’ prospects in the second half of the season.
