Mark Noble wowed by what he’s seen behind the scenes at West Ham United – ‘Fantastic’

Mark Noble is excited for the future after Lewis Orford signed a new contract with West Ham United.

The Hammers announced via their official website on 4 September that the 18-year-old has penned a new deal lasting until 2029.

Speaking out on the announcement, former Irons captain and Sporting Director Mark Noble has shared his excitement for the young midfielder’s career at the London Stadium.

He said: “I’ve known Lewis for a long time. I’ve watched him train and play as a kid. He’s a fantastic passer of the ball. And what excites me is that he’s still got so much to learn.

“It’s crucial that we continue to provide the best possible pathways for our young talent. It’s a tradition of the Club. We’ve got such a good crop of talent coming through, and it’s so important that these boys see their future with us.”

Mark Noble excited over Lewis Orford West Ham deal

The Irons offered the midfielder to Aston Villa in a cash-plus player swap deal for Jhon Duran [Daily Mail, 25 July] earlier in the summer but appear to have high hopes for the youngster.

Now they have managed to tie him down to a fresh deal which has left fans excited and clearly has been pushed through by Noble.

The ex-skipper knows a thing or two about being a successful midfielder in East London so any sort of praise from him is well merited.

Orford has positive experience for the Hammers in the Premier League 2 and has featured in the first-team matchday squad on multiple occasions.

With that being said, after his contract, he will be hopeful of turning those squad appearances into regular first-team minutes.

After Julen Lopetegui brought in Carlos Soler from PSG it may prove to be a struggle but the plans for the future look to be in place.
