Mark Noble spotted on Euro scouting mission for West Ham United at Monaco v Paris Saint-Germain

West Ham sporting director Mark Noble has been spotted attending the Ligue 1 clash between Monaco and Paris Saint-Germain on Saturday evening.

The Hammers have been well known for scouting the French top flight for talent to sign, having brought in the likes of Nayef Aguerd, Thilo Kehrer and Alphonse Areola in recent windows to bolster their squad.

With summer approaching and plans now in progress for the next transfer window, according to GFFN (11 February) Noble was in attendance for one of the biggest games in the division although it’s unclear who he was watching from the stands.

PSG were forced to field a weakened side after a virus struck down much of their squad, which allowed Monaco to pick up all three points in the clash.

Wissam Ben-Yedder has been linked with an exit from Monaco in the past and he scored twice, while the likes of Axel Disasi, Youssouf Fofana and Mohamed Camara are also said to have attracted Premier League interest recently.

Talent

Noble is reportedly very into the transfer side of things at the club, so for him to be in attendance of a game tells you the club are looking closely at someone involved.

Obviously we can mention a lot of names but there is no confirmation of any of those yet, and it’s possible that it could have been a wasted trip considering the state of the team that PSG were forced to put out in the end.

West Ham

But the fact that he is already out looking for the summer tells you the club are planning well in advance and that they’re confident of avoiding relegation, which means David Moyes is likely to stick around for a while too.

The French league has done us well in the past when it comes to signings, and there are usually quite a few gems in there that the club can look to sign ahead of the big boys in Europe.

It’ll be interesting to see if the club comment on the fact he was at the game, or if anyone gets any information on who we were watching, because the priorities for the squad should most certainly be the midfield area of the pitch for next season as well as a new central defender.
