Mark Noble sings praises of West Ham teammate

West Ham United captain Mark Noble has been at the club for decades now and has seen a lot of supremely talented players pass through.

He’s someone whose opinion holds massive weight, particularly in and around the London Stadium.

So when he hands out a compliment to one of his Hammers teammates, it’s worth listening to what he says.

Most recently, he’s been speaking about Monday night’s impact substitute extraordinaire Pablo Fornals.

The Spain international came off the bench to convert the second goal in the Irons’ 3-2 defeat at Anfield.

And Noble is a big fan: “He’s a good lad, Pablo, you know,” he told the club’s official website.

“Every player, if you’re a football player it’s your profession, you want to play football. He obviously hasn’t done that as much as he’d like to, but he got his chance and he come in and did well.

“I said to him that not many West Ham players have scored at Anfield and he was happy to get his goal, but the lads were gutted to come to a place like that and play like that and not get what we deserved, but it is what it is and we have got to win on Saturday”

Is Noble right to be impressed?

He certainly is. Fornals has been playing extremely well for a while now, and the only question has been why hasn’t David Moyes been playing him more?

It’s really been baffling to witness, because the 24-year-old was coming into his own in a big way prior to Manuel Pellegrini losing his job.

You can tell that Noble kind of wants to say that Fornals should have been getting more football.

He’s not going to dig out his manager, though, and so he contents himself with complimenting the Spaniard on his Monday performance.

In other West Ham news, a Hammers correspondent has claimed that one player is about to have his ‘Joao Mario moment’.
