Mark Noble raves about Marko Arnautovic and says Jesse Lingard is David Moyes’ favourite
Mark Noble spoke highly of West Ham transfer target Marko Arnautovic during his recent appearance on That Peter Crouch Podcast.
The skipper is all too familiar with the Austrian after his spell at the London Stadium, and the pair could reunite according to a report from 1000 Cuori Rossoblu.
Noble also revealed who David Moyes’ favourite is and told some funny stories about the dressing room at West Ham.
Speaking about Arnautovic, Noble said, “Everyone was worried about him when he came. What a funny, funny man though.
“What a player when he turned it on, some days in training, you couldn’t get close to the fella. I was really sad to see him go.”
Noble was then asked who David Moyes’ favourite player in the squad is, and his answer is not surprising.
“Ah Jesse Lingard at the minute. We do boxes [in training] and he’s not even allowed in the middle,” added Noble.
“Now obviously the lads are on it so it’s a running joke and they live in the same apartment block at the moment.
“But the gaffer loves it as well, Jesse will be with all of us and he’ll be like ‘Jesse thanks for bringing me that bottle of wine the other night’ and then he’ll be swallowing his Adam’s apple Jesse, he just doesn’t have a comeback for it.”
Never leave, Nobes
This point next year will be a very sad time as it will be the end of Noble’s brilliant career as a player.
He has given everything for the club and he deserves his status as a legend.
It was brilliant to hear him talk of his memories growing up as a Hammers fan before making his debut and going on to make more than 400 appearances for the club.
It is clear to see he is still a brilliant presence around the dressing room, with the players enjoying a hilarious prank on the captain on his birthday last week.
We would miss him if he goes so the club should offer him a role at the end of next season, perhaps as a coach working under Moyes.
Hearing him talk about Lingard being the manager’s favourite is interesting and also gives us a bit of hope that the loanee might stay.
If he is loved by the fans, his teammates and the boss then he has every reason to pick us as his first choice, hopefully now GSB pay whatever is necessary to get him.
