Mark Lawrenson predicts result of West Ham clash v Manchester United
Mark Lawrenson has backed West Ham United to draw against Manchester United on Saturday evening in the Premier League.
The BBC pundit has predicted that it will finish 1-1 at the London Stadium, as the Irons look to continue their great start to this season.
The Hammers are currently sitting fifth in the Premier League after their 2-1 win against Aston Villa on Monday evening.
Writing in his BBC predictions column, Lawrenson has claimed that Moyes will have a point to prove against his former side.
“West Ham are on a great run and are looking for their fourth straight win,” he wrote.
“I spoke to their manager and my friend, David Moyes last week who told me Aston Villa were the better team during the 2-1 win and that his side were lucky to come away with three-point.
“Having said that he has got his team competing well and they’re difficult to play against – Moysie might also feel he has a point to prove this weekend against his old employers.”
The Red Devils have endured a rollercoaster week.
After securing a late comeback win against Southampton, they were easily swept aside by Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League.
West Ham will be without Michail Antonio for this one and will be hoping for a much more straight forward outing than the drama-filled draw with Villa.
As for Moyes, nothing would be better than three points for him against United, although he has surely left that in the past with his eyes firmly set on the Irons.
