Marcus Bent drops ‘behind-the-scenes’ claim on David Moyes’ West Ham future
Marcus Bent has claimed that he has had it confirmed to him that Everton are pushing hard to steal David Moyes from West Ham United.
The Toffees have been looking for replacements after Carlo Ancelotti jumped ship to move back to Real Madrid in the past week.
Moyes has been tipped strongly for a return to Goodison Park since that news broke, although his new deal with the Irons is set to be announced.
Speaking to Football Fancast, Bent shared that the Toffees chairman Bill Kenwright is pushing hard for Moyes’ appointment.
“I spoke to people behind the scenes,” he said. “David Moyes is now being targeted again by the chairman and the club.
“He’s done so well at West Ham; he’s done so well. Me personally, I wouldn’t appoint him, but he deserves it, he would be good for the club, the players, the team and take them onto the next level with the new stadium.”
Get it done.
If GSB needed a bigger warning, here it is.
Everton and Kenwright are clearly huge fans of Moyes, and the Irons simply have to get this deal over the line and announced if it has been concluded.
There are no excuses for not getting this deal done, the gaffer has worked miracles in the past year by getting us into Europe, and he has to be the man to guide us through those games.
It would be inexcusable for GSB to let Moyes go, and we have to admit that we are biting our nails more each day this saga continues without an answer.
Bent has spoken to people behind-the-scenes at Goodison Park, and it confirmed what we all know, this has to serve as a warning.
