Marc Albrighton blasts West Ham United as he shares what he hasn’t seen for ages v Chelsea

Marc Albrighton slammed West Ham United after admitting he hasn’t seen a team getting “ripped apart” like the Hammers did v Chelsea for ages.

Julen Lopetegui’s men lost their third Premier League game of the season after their 3-0 loss to the Blues and currently find themselves 14th in the table.

The Hammers extended their poor run of form against Enzo Maresca’s men with the club now finding themselves winless from their last three games.

Speaking live on BBC Radio 5 Live (21 September, 13:56), Albrighton shared his verdict on West Ham’s performance.

“I can’t remember recently watching a team getting ripped apart like this,” he said.

“There’s quite a long stoppage in play just there and the West Ham players are just stood there hands on their hips, no communication or anything.”

Julen Lopetegui needs to get West Ham United back to winning ways

West Ham are one of the biggest underperformers in the Premier League this season, especially after their promising transfer window.

Julen Lopetegui managed to shore up his ranks across the board but after the opening games of the season, the Hammers look worse than they did under David Moyes last term.

For some reason, Lopetegui seems adamant about sticking with Konstantinos Mavropanos starting next to Max Kilman despite having Jean Clair-Todibo on the bench.

The Greek international even left Andy Gray aghast after he didn’t manage to stop Nicolas Jackson from scoring for Chelsea [beIN SPORTS 1, 21 September, 1:24pm] during their Premier League clash.

Lopetegui is getting the most fire for the Hammers’ results [Chris Sutton, 21 September] and while many may say it’s the players’ fault for not doing better on the pitch, they can only do as much as the manager coaches them to.

There’s no denying that the Spaniard is a stellar manager but, if he doesn’t manage to turn things around soon, his tenure could come to a premature end.

In other West Ham news, the Hammers turned down a £500,00 offer for Michail Antonio during the transfer window.
