Manchester United scouts stance emerges as West Ham United ace Declan Rice linked with Old Trafford transfer

Manchester United have reportedly always regarded West Ham midfielder Declan Rice’s valuation far too high for their liking.

According to the Athletic [December 24], there was never a universal consensus among the club scouts about Rice being the right fit at Old Trafford.

Rice has also been linked with a move to Chelsea, Manchester City and Arsenal ahead of the January transfer window.

West Ham

Battle heats up

We do not see the interest in Rice dying down in the coming months and that’s a good and a bad thing for West Ham.

While they eventually knew that the England international would leave for pastures new, there was always going to be a sad feeling when he departs.

The growing feeling around the London Stadium is that this could be his final season at the club and a big club is likely to sign him in the summer.

Manchester City and Chelsea do seem like prime candidates, but Arsenal’s crazy season puts them right into the picture, especially if they can get Champions League football.

City have already made contact with the player in the past and could look to do so in the months leading up to the summer as well.

Manchester United may not pursue his services now as they’ve secured the signing of Casemiro from Real Madrid this past summer.

It’s going to be interesting as his price is only going to rise and he may even break the British transfer record and we’re certainly hoping that it happens.
