Manchester City prepare new bid for Lucas Paqueta at West Ham United

Manchester City are preparing a new bid for West Ham United star Lucas Paqueta, according to Fabrizio Romano on Monday 14 August.

The Italian journalist has reported that negotiations will advance between the two clubs, with an opening bid of £70million already rejected.

It is said that Paqueta has already reached an agreement on personal terms and wants the move to happen already to join Pep Guardiola at The Etihad Stadium.

He wrote: “Understand Man City are preparing new bid for Lucas Paquetá — negotiations will advance with West Ham.

“Paquetá has reached an agreement on personal terms with City and wants the move. Opening £70m bid rejected but City will submit new one.”

West Ham

Advancing.

Well then, it looks as though we could be set for even more bad news from this window.

Declan Rice and Gianluca Scamacca have already moved on, and it looks as though the Brazilian will not be far behind, with Manchester City usually getting what they want.

Paqueta looks to have made it very clear that he wants out after only one year at the London Stadium, and is it hard to blame him when the treble winners come calling?

Guardiola gets what he wants 99% of the time, and with money being no issue, it looks as though another fee of close to £100million will be needed to sign the South American.

Looking at how difficult signing players has been for West Ham this summer, David Moyes will be very hesitant over this one, regardless of money, with Paqueta potentially irreplaceable given his skillset.

This is one to watch, but the outcome may be one that we all do not want.
