Lukasz Fabianski ‘likely’ to remain West Ham number one next season
West Ham United’s Lukasz Fabianski is “likely” to be David Moyes’ first choice goalkeeper next season, according to the Daily Mail.
Fabianski had been Moyes’ Premier League first choice in the 2021/22 campaign but the 37-year-old endured a tough end to the season.
It has been revealed by the Daily Mail on Friday 10 June, that the Irons hope to get a £7.6million deal over the line for PSG’s Alphonse Areola, despite late Newcastle United interest.

However, the newspaper suggested that Fabianski will likely keep his place between the sticks in the near future.
Surprising
If Moyes has decided to stick with Fabianski it will be a surprise for the West Ham faithful.
Fabianski has been a good servant for the club, but there is no doubt that his performances towards the back end of the Premier League season demonstrated a player on the decline.
At the age of 37, it is surely time for the Hammers to freshen up their goalkeeping options and introduce a new number one into the equation.

If Moyes can fend off Newcastle’s interest and secure a deal for Areola then he surely has to be number one going into the 2022/23 campaign.
During his loan spell in the 2021/22 season, Areola displayed his quality in West Ham’s run to the Europa League semi-final
Areola was instrumental and made some big saves at crucial moments for the Irons.
Moyes should be looking to go with a younger, up and coming option in goal and unfortunately, that may mean moving the Polish keeper on.
In other West Ham news, a deal is on the cards to sign a forward who Moyes once compared to Wayne Rooney.
