Lukasz Fabianski key to sealing Piotr Zielinski deal for West Ham United

West Ham are still in negotiation to sign Napoli midfielder Piotr Zielinski, as per ExWHUemployee.

The reliable Hammers source wrote on his Patreon on 28 July that “negotiations are edging closer”, but there’s still some way to go before a deal can be agreed.

The challenge is to persuade the player to leave Italy. Ex suggests that Lukasz Fabianski can play a key role in helping the player move to the London Stadium.

In case, West Ham fail in their attempt to sign the Polish midfielder, they will turn their attention toward signing Amadou Onana.

The Hammers will improve their offer to bring the Belgian to the London club, but at the moment, both the clubs are poles apart in their valuation of the player.

Fabianski key

It always helps when you’ve got a player from the same country who can persuade the target to join him.

Pedro Obiang played a role in bringing Gianluca Scamacca, and Fabianski can do the same to bring his Polish teammate to the London club.

Of course, the decision entirely rests on Zielinski, and he has got serious reasons not to consider a move to West Ham.

The Hammers are trying to tempt him with a better wage package but giving up on Champions League football is not always easy.

Having said that, David Moyes can still tempt him with the project the club is building.

Zielinski is a vastly experienced player. He has played all his life in Italy and has made over 365 appearances in his club career, scoring 45 goals.

He has managed 72 appearances for his country as well. The Hammers need depth and quality in midfield, and both Onana and Zielinski can provide that.

Getting him will represent a statement of intent from the club, but as with big deals, this one won’t be easy to pull it off straightaway.
