Lucas Paqueta to have West Ham medical ahead of transfer
Lyon midfielder Lucas Paqueta is reportedly a step closer to completing his move to West Ham with his medical scheduled for Sunday.
According to Sky Sports journalist Dharmesh Sheth, the Brazilian will be arriving in the UK on Saturday, August 27, and have the check ups a day later.
It’s understood that the deal will rise to £51million – making him the club’s record signing.
Via Twitter, Sheth wrote, “Lyon midfielder Lucas Paqueta to have medical tomorrow ahead of move to West Ham United. Paqueta expected to fly in to the UK tonight. Deal is worth €60m. Initial fee is €43m + €17m in add-ons.”
Great move
West Ham have acted like a professional football club in this transfer window – which cannot be said about them in the past.
They have continually let the manager down and at the end of the day, it’s him who takes the blame for bad performances.
However, after two terrific seasons, Moyes has been backed to the T this summer and once, the manager has no more excuses.
This side is good enough to finish in the top half and if Moyes successfully rallies his troops then can once again finish in the European places.
It’s time that he integrates his new signings in the team, especially Gianluca Scamacca and Maxwel Cornet as they have been exceptional whenever given the chance and they now deserve regular starts.
Paqueta may not immediately start but if he manages to impress Moyes we will not be surprised to see him in the eleven against Spurs on August 31.
