Lord Alan Sugar has sent a message to Karren Brady after West Ham clinched the 2022/23 Europa Conference League trophy.

The Hammers defeated Italian club Fiorentina 2-1 in the final in Prague on Wednesday (7 June).

Said Benrahma and Jarrod Bowen scored for David Moyes’s side as they ended their 43-year wait for a trophy.

Tagging West Ham and Karren Brady, Lord Sugar posted on Twitter: “Congratulations WHU great win. Nice for a bit of good news in the UK.”

West Ham

Huge moment

It’s a huge moment for the Hammers, with Brady and indeed everyone else associated with the club set to be overjoyed at what the players did on the pitch in the Czech capital.

It was a determined performance from Moyes’s men, who impressed in the European competition right from the very off.

They had always looked like having a strong campaign from the group stages, with the fantastic Europa Conference League adventure acting as a much-needed distraction from the club’s Premier League struggles.

But safety in the top flight has been secured, and there is now a major European trophy heading back to East London, so it certainly hasn’t been a bad season in the end for West Ham.

After plenty of woes this season, the major European success should now help the club really kick on, with Europa League football now awaiting the Hammers and their passionate supporters next time out.
