Loic Fery admits FC Lorient agreed deal with West Ham United for Terem Moffi
FC Lorient president Loic Fery had admitted to L’Equipe that the French club had agreed a deal with West Ham for striker Terem Moffi but the deal didn’t materialize.
The Hammers were heavily linked with a move for the 23-year-old who scored 12 goals in 17 starts for Lorient, but the Nigerian striker eventually joined OGC Nice on loan, with a mandatory option to buy in the summer.
Fery revealed that the club accepted two offers for Moffi before he joined Nice, one from Marseille and the other from the Hammers, and it was within their parameters.

“We had accepted an offer from Marseille and another from West Ham, which were within our parameters. When you close the door, you have to know when to stop,” said Fery to L’Equipe.
Got away?
In the January window, the Hammers wanted to bolster their forward ranks and they earmarked Moffi as a potential target.
It is really interesting that the Hammers had agreed a deal for Moffi, and yet they couldn’t get it over the line.
The Hammers probably won’t regret though as they signed Danny Ings instead from Aston Villa.
West Ham probably would have chased hard for Moffi had they lost Michail Antonio who was linked with a move away from the club.
In the end, Antonio stayed on, and the Hammers probably didn’t feel the need to go after Moffi.

Ings is a vastly experienced Premier League striker who is a natural scorer. He is a fantastic finisher and a proven goalscorer.
The Hammers have really struggled for goals this season, and let’s hope that Ings can solve those problems.
With Gianluca Scamacca currently out injured, David Moyes will be pinning hopes on Ings and Antonio to deliver.
The Hammers are 16th in the Premier League, with only a point above the relegation zone. However, they have shown signs of improvement lately.
