Liverpool weigh up offer for Declan Rice – ExWHUEmployee

Declan Rice has been subject to transfer interest from Liverpool after news broke that he had turned down two contract offers at West Ham.

The Telegraph’s news yesterday may have come as a huge shock to a number of fans as they believed that Rice would stay on beyond the summer.

While the England international hasn’t pushed for an exit, he could be on his way out, given the clubs that are showing a keen interest in his services.

On his Patreon page for the West Ham Way podcast, ExWHUemployee shared an update in the late hours of Thursday night.

He wrote, “West Ham seem determined to keep hold of their man and there have been no offers to test the water.

“Rice still has four years left on his deal so the race to sign him could go on for some seasons unless a club gets close to our valuation.

“The two Manchester clubs and Chelsea are circulating and it is understood that Liverpool are also weighing up an offer.”

Race is heating up

Matt Law spoke about the interest from the two Manchester clubs and Chelsea and it has been well documented that they’ve been interested in signing the player.

However, news of Liverpool preparing to weigh up an offer is new and something that should make West Ham fans jittery.

Jurgen Klopp parted ways with Gini Wijnaldum on a free this summer and while he is a box-to-box player, he was often been deployed as a six this past season due to Fabinho’s injury.

Even with the return of the Brazilian, Klopp could want more solidity in midfield and Rice would undoubtedly be a good addition to the German’s side.

While we know that the chances of him leaving this summer are bleak as it’s unlikely any club tests the waters and pays over a 100million for him, it’s important we give him the money he wants and quite clearly deserves.

He’s our best player and our prized asset so we should do whatever it takes to keep him happy.

Roy Keane recently referred to him as ‘excellent‘ because of performances at EUROs, and we can’t help but agree with him.
