Liverpool still want to sign West Ham star Jarrod Bowen

Liverpool are still keen on signing West Ham star Jarrod Bowen and a January swoop has been mooted by the Liverpool Echo.

They claim that Jurgen Klopp likes the 24-year-old for many reasons and that the Reds could look to make a move for him in January after they saw their summer attempts fail [The Athletic].

Bowen has made seven appearances this season for the Irons and has filled in as a striker on two occasions when Michail Antonio hasn’t played, so he is a key player in David Moyes’ team.

Will Liverpool sign Bowen?

Given that the Hammers bought the former Hull City man for £20million in the 2020 January transfer window, we can imagine that the Irons will be looking for a huge profit.

However, we also wouldn’t be surprised if the Hammers shut down any and all bids for the 24-year-old, who is now a key part of a successful Irons team.

Last season, he scored eight goals and provided six assists in all competitions and though, he hasn’t scored yet this season, he has played well in a lot of games and averages a 7.52 rating from WhoScored for his league displays.

He has also been described as “brilliant to watch” by Gary Neville and looks to have a bright future ahead of him [21/12/2020 Sky Sports].

There will probably come a point when the likes of Liverpool increase their interest and really put the pressure on, but for now, we can’t see why Bowen would want to go anywhere and why the Irons would even contemplate selling him.

In other West Ham news, the Hammers will be without one first-team player against Leeds.
