Lewis Jones predicts West Ham clash v Southampton

Lewis Jones has backed Southampton to leave West Ham United with a point in their Premier League clash on Sunday afternoon.

The Sky Sports pundit has predicted it will finish 1-1 at the London Stadium, enough to secure Europa League football next season.

Jones has frequently gone against the Irons this season and consistently is proven wrong by David Moyes’ men on a weekly basis.

West Ham

Writing in his Sky Sports predictions column, Jones finally did admit his thrill at the “amazing” season of the Hammers.

“Regular readers will not be surprised to know I cannot back West Ham here,” he said.

“However, this decision is more to do with the scenario surrounding the game rather than a dig at the Hammers, who have continued to prove me wrong all season and are just one point away from securing an amazing top-six finish.

“Southampton can be a fiddly side to keep quiet if bringing their usual pressing game to the party, so this will not be an easy one for David Moyes’ team. A draw is all they need to cap a remarkable season and that is where my money will be going.”

West Ham

Europa.

What a season.

Who would have expected this when we lost to Newcastle on the opening day? That was a dreadful performance, and we haven’t had many since.

Southampton aren’t in the best vein of form having lost to Leeds last time out in front of their fans, and it is time for us to show them how it is done at home.

We all got a taste for live football midway through the season, but with the Europa League all-but-secured, it will be a party atmosphere.

Jones isn’t our biggest fan, but we take great pleasure in proving people wrong, especially when they are on such a big stage as Sky Sports.

Bring it on.
