Lewis Jones predicts result of West Ham clash v Spurs

Lewis Jones has backed West Ham United to pick up a single point in their Premier League clash against Spurs on Sunday afternoon.

The Sky Sports expert has predicted that it will finish 2-2 at the London Stadium with a goal-frenzy expected.

Nuno Espirito Santo’s men are expected to be a huge threat, but Jones believes that “machine-like” Declan Rice will have a massive role to play.

Writing in his Sky Sports predictions column this week, Jones…

“Goals, goals, goals. If that’s your thing, then this game should be right up your street,” he wrote.

“Now Nuno has that sorted, the quality he has at his disposal in forward areas will make it easier to win tight matches. They’ll be a huge threat here.

“Whether they can win this midfield battle though is debatable. Declan Rice is in machine-like form for the Hammers, showing more maturity with his passing this season and breaking up play excellently in his usual fashion.

“When you break it down, I’d be surprised if there will be many points between these two in the table come the end of the season, so a draw looks the sensible play.”

Rice is key?

Harry Kane loves to drop deeper, we all know this from watching the EUROs painfully at times.

When you add the likes of Hueng Min-Son in the final third as well, Rice could be set for a busy afternoon of sweeping up the danger ahead of the defence.

Kurt Zouma and Angelo Ogbonna are forming a real partnership at the back, and this is just another test they will be more than ready for.

Kane won’t bully them physically, neither does he have the pace to worry them in-behind, so if played safely, the Irons duo could shackle him.

Should that happen, and Son is also kept quiet, it is down to our attack to seal all three points and against this shaky Spurs defence, we could easily see that happening.

In other West Ham United news, the Irons want to sign this European star with a potential bargain move on the table
