Leon Boyd, Josh Tobin and Max Jolliffe unlikely to sign for West Ham after trials
Leon Boyd, Josh Tobin and Max Jolliffe have all returned to their clubs and are unlikely to sign a deal with West Ham, according to ExWHUemployee.
The reliable Hammers insider suggested on the West Ham Way Patreon on Friday evening (at 4:13 pm, 21 January) that the club have already made a transfer decision on the trialists.
Linfield’s Boyd, Chelsea under-18 skipper Tobin, 18, and Arsenal’s Jolliffe, 15, were all looking to impress in order to seal a move earlier this month, but it appears none of them has done enough.

Disappointing
A lot of teenagers undergo trials at the club like everywhere else, but not all of them gets to be picked, and that appears to be the case here.
Boyd’s former teammate at Linfield Callum Marshall was recently snapped up by West Ham, and the 15-year-old was tipped to follow suit should he impress.
Despite being one of Northern Ireland’s hottest prospects, the Linfield kid just has not done enough despite earlier links with other Premier League clubs.
Boyd is versatile as they come, has pace to burn and boasts of loads of tricks, but like Tobin and Jolliffe, he is not at the standard the Hammers are looking for.

One can only hope the club have not made a mistake by letting go of the trio given how things could change with youngsters’ development.
Chelsea continue to regret letting go of Declan Rice as a schoolboy, and West Ham hopefully will not after not signing them.
They will be hoping the next set of trialists do enough to earn moves.
