Leeds United likely to pay Sonny Perkins wage demands, West Ham United exit could be sorted in two weeks

Leeds United are likely to pay the wage demands of West Ham talent Sonny Perkins as he nears the exit door, according to ExWHUemployee.

The reliable source has reported that the agent of Perkins is demanding a first-team wage at the London Stadium, something that the Irons appear reluctant to pay.

It is reported that a move to Elland Road could be sealed within the next couple of weeks with the Whites now hopeful of concluding a deal ahead of Aston Villa.

Writing on the West Ham Way Patreon page [09 June, 17:10], Ex shared the latest update on the future of the youngster which is set to be resolved soon.

“Sonny Perkins’ move to Leeds or Aston Villa is now being broken elsewhere,” he wrote.

“We believe that Sonny’s agent is asking for a first-team wage and that Leeds are the most likely to pay it. There was some interest from Villa but it appears that Leeds are the more likely to get the deal over the line and hope to conclude it in the next couple of weeks.”

Ransom.

West Ham are not going to be held to ransom by any player or their agent, especially one that hasn’t even fully broken into the first team as of yet.

Of course, it will not be great to see one of our brightest talents move on from the London Stadium to another Premier League side, especially Leeds by the looks of things, but you have to be realistic.

If you break to unrealistic demands of one player, it can quickly lead to others doing the same and using it as an example to demand more money themselves.

The 18-year-old made two appearances in the Europa League last season and one in the Premier League as it looked as though he was finally set to make the jump into the senior side.

David Moyes may be slightly disappointed, but he will also understand that there has to be a line that cannot be crossed as these younger players start to be influenced by those around them.

In other West Ham United news, the Irons have now opened talks with agents as they look to seal the major exit of one first-team player this summer
