Kurt Zouma likely still out for West Ham United v Liverpool, Craig Dawson is serious doubt

West Ham United are likely to be without Kurt Zouma for the trip to Liverpool in the Premier League, according to The West Ham Way.

It is reported that the Frenchman is still suffering from a virus problem which kept him out of the games with Anderlecht and Southampton over the past week.

To make matters worst, Craig Dawson is still said to be a serious doubt after taking a knock to his thigh in that Conference League clash against the Belgians.

Dawson was forced to come on and replace Angelo Ogbonna in that game too, with the enforcer suffering a tight hamstring, which will also keep him out.

This piece of triple news has been described as a “huge blow” to David Moyes, who will be forced into going to Anfield with a makeshift defence once more it appears.

It could be the worst possible time too given Jurgen Klopp’s men will be brimming with confidence after beating Manchester City over the weekend.

Crisis.

You have got to be kidding.

There was hope that both Zouma and Dawson could return for the trip, but right now it looks highly unlikely given this latest update from Rush Green.

West Ham United have been facing rotten luck with injuries so far this season, with them all hitting in one place at once, this time, the heart of their defence.

Dawson and Zouma would be fantastic to have, with the two dominating figures needed in huge games such as this where they can get on top of the opposition.

Instead, it looks as though Thilo Kehrer will be the only 100% fit central option and may be forced to have Aaron Cresswell and Ben Johnson on either side of him.

They’re not terrible options, but both are full-backs and it is easy to get exposed when you are playing against the best, something we hope doesn’t happen.

This crisis needs to end, and quickly.
